So before you go all crazy with all of the reasons why you love meal plans, I do think they are a really great way to kickstart your health and fitness journey or for teaching portion size. But did you know that they could also be sabotaging your weight loss goals? Keep reading to learn 3 reasons learning to make your own meal will stop the sabotage!
I am hearing a lot of people who are buying/finding/following meal plans and losing weight but are having a hard time maintaining. When you are trying to lose weight and keep it off for good it is really important to understand that there is a difference between having a meal plan and making a meal plan.
Here are 3 reasons why I coach people to make their own meal plans:
You can plan food that is versatile and can accommodate the ever changing likes and dislikes of the other people who also eat your food.
They can be flexible.
Going out for dinner with your bestie on Friday? Plan around that.
Dance pick up at 5:30, plan for take out
Starting intermittent fasting. You can plan for that too!
3. You can include all of the things that you enjoy! Yep, even cookies.
When you rely on someone else to tell you what to eat, you aren't learning what your body needs. You have to be armed with the tools to make the decisions that fit best for your life that day and adjust on the fly when needed with CONFIDENCE.
“If you give a man a fish, you feed him for a day. If you teach a man to fish, you feed him for a lifetime.”
“Give a girl a meal plan and she can reach short term success. Teach a girl to meal plan and she can crush her goals and keep them that way while she lives her best life!”
I can help you learn to meal plan in a way that is flexible and works for your family and allows you to eat the foods that you love! It is the best way to help you reach your weight loss goals and maintain them long term. If you are reading this and are ready to learn, send me an email and we can book a call to get you started!
