Pro Tips for Using My Fitness Pal

One of the first things you need to do when you start food tracking is find a method that works for you. Are you going to manually record your food in a notebook? Journal? or a convenient app on your phone? I chose the later, and have been using My Fitness Pal, tracking my daily intake of food for the past 957 days and counting.


Here is why I love using My Fitness Pal:

  • You can scan or input foods fast for macro tracking

  • It's on my phone and my phone goes everywhere with me

  • It syncing to my STRNGirls App that tracks my progress for me

  • I can share my food with my Food Coach via the app


WARNING: I love the app for tracking BUT I don’t love the suggested macros it gives you when you first input your goals. These numbers are not a great starting point, especially if you have a goal to lose weight.
