I read a post this week on Instagram that said, The loudest message public health should be preaching is not to take a drug or injection. There are things you can do right now, from home, that can dramatically improve your health. I couldn’t agree more.
I just thought I’d elaborate as a Personal Training Specialist and Food Coach, the impact these healthy habits can have on your body and its health and wellness.
Here are 4 things you can do to dramatically improve your health as a woman:
1. Cut out processed foods and sugar. Adding in more foods that are simple, not full of too many ingredients and that include more protein are fantastic for your health! As you know, I’m a Food Coach and I love helping my clients find healthy recipes that leave them satisfied, fueled and help them feel healthier. Check out one of my favourite recipes HERE.
2. Get moving! Exercise is a gift to your body. Even if you have a fairly active day, intentionally moving your body in a way that makes it feel good is key to keeping your body healthy, well and strong. If it’s been a while since your last workout, I recorded a fun one we can do together. Click Here to watch it!
3. Sleep 6-8 hours a night. It is scientifically proven that the body needs to rest in order to function optimally. Cutting out sleep or going days without prioritizing it can be detrimental.
It can be hard as a mom to get in the uninterrupted sleep- trust me I know. To set myself up for success, I try to go to bed early. I can’t control how early the kids or the dogs will wake me up in the morning, but I can control how early I get in bed. If you want more of my tips for a better night’s sleep, CLICK HERE.
4. Schedule in de-Stressing activities. Stress can wreak havoc on our entire body, in fact, a lot of holistic practitioners say stress is what is putting our bodies in dis-ease the most. Incorporating activities that intentionally decrease stress in my body and mind are crucial to feeling healthy and well. Some of my favourites are: meditation, yoga, going for a walk outside, 5-minute dance party/lipsyncing.
I believe women need to prioritize their health in order to live their best lives. If you agree, feel free to join the conversation over on Instagram. Follow me @strongirlsinc.
